Southwick's Open Space Recreation Plan Committee revised draft survey questions, adding senior center expansion and a dog park to the options list.
Other Committee · Meeting of October 13, 2026
Southwick's Open Space Recreation Plan Committee revised draft survey questions, adding senior center expansion and a dog park to the options list. Members Connor Fleury, Phil Price, Dennis Clark, Jen DePedro and Martha Kane voted 5-0 to approve August 25 minutes, with David DeGilore attending for the Park and Recreation Commission. DeGilore reported the Senior Center has roughly 120 regular users and wants an expansion option added to the facilities question.
Members also agreed to add a senior/ADA-accessible community garden and a dog park to the survey, though one member cautioned the dog park was "putting the cart before the horse" since it still needs Conservation Commission review. The committee acknowledged its project timeline is well behind schedule, with the resident survey and a public visioning session both still unscheduled as of the October 13 meeting.
