SOUTHWICK — A Bugbee Road resident told the Southwick Select Board that outdated fire hydrant coding and shared pump station design may be delaying emergency water flow, citing a 2018 house fire on his street that killed two adults. The resident, a more than 35-year Bugbee Road homeowner, said hydrants on Bugbee and Granville roads are marked "flushing only" and warned the town could face negligence liability "if another incident were occurring" with catastrophic loss. He also said drivers hit "60 miles an hour" on a road posted for 30.
The board took no action on either concern. Separately, members approved a $30 cash donation to the library's gift account requested by Library Director Lynn Blair, approved the September 14 minutes, and acknowledged warrants totaling $352,119.39 in payroll and $4,690,004.60 in payables.
