Blandford Select Board Approves Appointments, Authorizes Treasurer RFP Release

BLANDFORD — June 1, 2026 — Blandford Select Board clears slate of appointments and authorizes treasurer RFP ahead of annual town meeting. At the June 1 meeting, the board unanimously appointed Christina Ferreira as town administrator, Kim Berklin to the Zoning Board of Appeals, Doug Emo as Watson Park groundskeeper, Jennifer Girard to risk management, Aaron Poteet as plumbing and gas inspector, and Adam Dolby as hazardous waste officer, all for terms running July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The board also voted unanimously to authorize its chair to release a request for proposals for combined treasurer and collector services once Town Counsel completes review of language under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30B, Section 6. The full annual town meeting warrant — covering a $5,676,663 general operating budget, a $1,786,605 Gateway Regional School District assessment, water enterprise fund transfers totaling more than $200,000, and four energy-overlay zoning articles — was reviewed article by article, with prior-year invoice articles from multiple departments grouped into a single consent calendar requiring one four-fifths vote. The board accepted the resignation of Planning Board Vice Chair Edna Willender, effective June 30, 2026, after seven years of service, with members noting her work had been "tirelessly" given to projects including the energy overlay district.
