Southwick Select Board declines right of first refusal on Klaus Anderson Road property

SOUTHWICK — June 15, 2026 — Southwick Select Board waives right of first refusal on 177 Klaus Anderson Road, clearing a pending private sale. The board voted 2-0 Monday — with member Russ Deedee absent — after the Agricultural Commission became the final town body to unanimously recommend against exercising the option. The board also approved meeting minutes from May 11 and June 1 and acknowledged payables warrant 2628B for $328,018.95. During public comment, resident Stephanie Kesecker of 283 College Highway complained that outdoor concerts at a nearby venue produced noise levels she estimated between 90 and 115 decibels, far above what she said is the town's 52-to-55-decibel limit, and said abutters received no advance notice of the events, which were permitted only through one-day liquor licenses. The board said it would research the town's noise regulations and reach out to the venue. A state law allowing bars to stay open one hour later from July 8 to July 31 for FIFA World Cup events drew no support from the board, which declined to opt in.
