Board Requires Farm Dogs In at Night Until Trained

Brimfield Select Board conditions a nuisance farm's dogs on nighttime confinement until training is proven. The board accepted a mitigation plan submitted by M&M Family Farm's owners, adding a requirement that the dogs stay inside from 10 p.m. to 6 p.m. until certified training is complete, with progress reports due on five dates through December 31. Member Mitch Frazier called the confinement condition "very defensible," while a neighbor who filed the original complaint said "it's been our sleep that's been the issue" and questioned the farm owners' intentions.
Separately, the board adopted the state's model designer selection procedures and approved a $35,000-cap request for architectural services to restore Town Hall's historic windows, accepted a $149,909.50 Chapter 90 reimbursement for Haynes Hill Road, and approved a letter demanding removal of unregistered vehicles from a 6th Street property over well-contamination concerns.
