SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Conservation Commission voted unanimously to ratify an enforcement order over sediment and fill that washed into a wetland at 5 and 9 South Road. Conservation Coordinator Sabrina told the commission the order requires fill to be tarped within 48 hours, a wetland scientist retained within 14 days and a wetland delineation completed within a month. Property owner Lauren said flooding in her crawl space had gotten "worse and worse and worse" as more fill was dumped nearby, while neighbor Ed said the material, delivered in an estimated 15 to 17 truckloads, sits almost entirely on his own land.
In separate hearings, the commission issued negative determinations for septic and tree work at 377 North Loomis Street and for roof-runoff work at 22 Shore Road, conditioned on splash guards. It also extended an enforcement deadline at 201 Granville Road to September 17 and approved a certificate of compliance for 6 Iroquois Drive.
