Southwick Board of Assessors reorganized and approved six routine warrants at its July 20 meeting with only two of four members present. Dean Brown was elected chair, John Cain — absent — was named vice chair, and Dean Horacek was named clerk, all on 2-0 votes. The board approved two payments in lieu of taxes to the U.S.

Treasury totaling $6,816 for federal lands within town, a Southwood Housing Authority pilot payment of $3,449.28, a rollback tax payment of $177 attributed to Clause Anderson, the June Motor Vehicle Abatements, and motor vehicle commitment number three. The June 22 minutes were tabled because Brown had been absent from that session. The meeting closed with the board voting 2-0 to enter executive session under MGL Chapter 59, Section 60 to review real estate abatements and exemptions, with no open session to follow.
