SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Planning Board continued three hearings, including a comprehensive rewrite of the town's zoning bylaw, to September 8. Chair Jessica Thornton's board voted 5-0 to continue the Chapter 185 overhaul, presented by Pioneer Valley Planning Commission's Evan Mastriani, who said the 111-page draft "is really, if anything, having to wait longer" to allow more review time. The board also continued WGI, Inc.'s bid for a 68,000-square-foot aircraft-parts remanufacturing building at 34 and 36 Hudson Drive, where General Manager David Tetreault projected about 150 employees at full build-out tied to a five-jobs-per-year tax-increment financing agreement.
Engineer Terry Reynolds pegged the project's added traffic at roughly "a one percent increase on Route 57." A marijuana cultivation facility hearing for Pioneer Valley Trading Company at 34 Granville Road was also continued after the applicant failed to appear pending a stormwater peer review.
