SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Planning Board approved a special permit, site plan and stormwater permit for a marijuana cultivation facility at 34 Granville Road, calling it the town's first such operation. Member Jason Gronwald recused himself from all votes on the item, while Dave Spina, Randy Brown and Chair Jessica Thornton approved the permits by roll call after the Conservation Commission signed off on a revised wetland report. The board separately continued a Crepes Tea House request to expand outdoor cooking from one to two days a week to October 20, after Fire Chief Stefanowicz reported a video showing lit candles inside the restaurant in violation of fire code, with one official warning the board was "taking some liberties with the opportunities we're giving him." A third hearing, for a 2,400-square-foot plumbing company headquarters at 591 College Highway, was also continued to October 20 pending DPW review of a sewer easement and a loading-space dispute, after abutter Richard Battistoni said blocked deliveries on College Highway affect "ninety percent" of his business traffic.
