Planning Board · Meeting of October 8, 2026

LUDLOW — The Ludlow Planning Board unanimously approved six separate permit and waiver requests at its October 8 meeting, highlighted by a finding that the 425 Center Street fuel station's 2017 special permit was never signed. Town Planner Josh Carpenter and Chair Raymond Phoenix discovered the gap while reviewing a cosmetic rebrand from Sunoco to Nuria Energy Retail Inc., presented by permitting manager Michael Durant. The board also approved, 5-0, a telehealth counseling special permit for Jennifer Wright at 459 Pool Street, endorsed a lot-line swap on West Street, and let a Sewell Street salon keep a movable chain across a cut-through "out of control" with speeding traffic.

Phoenix separately told the board the town's new town meeting voting machines malfunctioned repeatedly during the October 6 special town meeting, saying officials were "trying to fix something that wasn't broken."
