Holyoke Youth Soccer League scaled back its weekend slate, canceling most games across two divisions while a handful of matchups went forward.

HOLYOKE -- Holyoke Youth Soccer League posted notices this week canceling the bulk of its weekend games in two divisions. In one division, the league said Pacers vs. Knights (8 a.m.) and Hawks vs. Spartans (8:45 a.m.) would be played, with all other games in that division canceled for the day. In another division, Murphy Mechanical Services vs. PeoplesBank (8 a.m.) and Gillis Insurance vs. Holyoke Sporting Goods (8:45 a.m.) were set to go forward, with the rest of that division's games also canceled.

For the league's Grades 3-8 teams, HYSL said game-day decisions are made by division directors based on conditions at the home field. Coaches are notified once a call is made and are responsible for relaying it to parents, with a final decision due no later than one hour before a game's scheduled start.
