East Longmeadow Board of Health Extends Two Housing-Violation Deadlines Unanimously

EAST LONGMEADOW — March 19, 2026 — East Longmeadow Board of Health unanimously extended housing-violation correction deadlines for two property owners at its March 19 meeting. The board voted 3-0 twice — Chair Christine Johnston, Dr. Katie Jobins, and Rebecca Torcha all voting in favor — to grant 30-day extensions to Angeline Noel of 41 Pleasant Street, whose new deadline is April 27, 2026, and to Alex Sarah of 36 Frasier Drive, whose deadline moves to May 3, 2026. Noel reported completing major repairs including porch-floor replacement, attic plaster work, and basement beam securing following a December 19, 2025 inspection; window replacements and foundation waterproofing remain. Sarah told the board he cannot access the property due to active probate court proceedings. Health Director Tammy also flagged a name discrepancy in Deer Park Recycling's permit application — the entity filed as an LLC but is not one — for discussion at a future meeting, and reported the department is nearing finalization of a regional shared-services public health agreement with neighboring communities.
