East Longmeadow Board of Health Extends Deadlines at Two Properties Under Enforcement
EAST LONGMEADOW — April 16, 2026 — East Longmeadow Board of Health grants final-warning housing extensions at two properties. The board voted unanimously Thursday to extend corrective-action deadlines at 41 Pleasant Street through May 27, 2026, and at 36 Fraser Drive through June 2, 2026, following housing inspections conducted in December 2025 and January 2026, respectively. Health Agent Tammy told the board she had personally observed significant basement flooding at 41 Pleasant Street and that contractor Connecticut Dry Basements was scheduled on-site the following day; she signaled that the six-month-old case was approaching the limit of the board's patience, warning that non-compliance would lead to housing court. At 36 Fraser Drive, a court order barring occupancy effective May 1 made the existing May 3 deadline unworkable, prompting the short extension. The board also deferred a vote on the inter-municipal agreement required to formalize a four-municipality shared-services collaborative under the state's Public Health Excellence for Shared Services Grant, after unresolved questions between town counsel and the DPH grant attorney; a final draft is expected at the May 14 meeting. Public health nurse Chris Buffington has submitted retirement paperwork effective June 1.
