East Longmeadow Assessors Launch Cyclical Inspections Targeting 500 Properties This Spring

EAST LONGMEADOW — March 18, 2026 — East Longmeadow's Board of Assessors launched a state-mandated cyclical inspection program that will target roughly 500 parcels beginning in late April or early May. Director Keri-Ann Wenzel told the board at its March 18 meeting that Bishop and Associates will conduct the inspections, with representatives carrying town ID badges and their vehicle information shared with the police department. The board also approved February administrative reports showing motor vehicle excise abatements of $13,797.12 and a revised fiscal year 2026 real estate exemption total of $44,329.23, the latter corrected after one exemption was missed in the original filing. Two February sales were flagged as potential non-arms-length transactions. Wenzel reminded residents that inspections are not mandatory for entry and encouraged all property owners to review their field cards for accuracy, noting the office has corrected records listing structures that no longer exist.
