Southwick CPC Approves Three Warrant Articles, Advances Housing Outreach Plan

Southwick Community Preservation Committee approves three warrant articles and routes housing trust to Select Board. The committee, meeting March 18 in hybrid format, unanimously backed a main CPA budget warrant article, a warrant article covering the town's alum lake treatment loan repayment, and a $33,561 prior-year budget adjustment attributed to a prior town official. Member Chris Pratt pressed the committee to act on unused CPA housing funds, saying "we don't have anything on the slate or anything at all out there," and the committee voted to launch social media outreach seeking housing project applications.

A staff coordinator confirmed that a housing trust matter, previously referred to the housing authority, has been sent to the Select Board, which must first create a trust committee before funds can be requested. A conservation restriction for 74 College Highway has been submitted to the state with a tracking number now assigned.
