SOUTHWICK — March 16, 2026 — Southwick Conservation Commission issues friendly enforcement order over wetland buffer fill at 292 North Newman Street. The commission voted 6-0 with one abstention Monday to allow Anthony Dorsey to resolve a possible encroachment by grading, seeding, and installing a rock wall rather than undergoing formal permitting, after Dorsey said he brought fill onto his property over the winter and may have crossed the buffer line by roughly 10 feet near a riverfront resource area measuring approximately 200 feet from his work zone. The commission separately voted unanimously to take no conservation interest in a 17-acre parcel at 177 Pol Sanderson Road, listed at $585,000 and proposed for a six-lot retirement-housing subdivision by Blue Sky Builders, citing no available acquisition funds, no adjacent conservation land, and no identified extraordinary natural resources. The commission also unanimously endorsed the Economic Development Commission's completion of Master Plan Action Item 1.2, commending enhancements to the ShopSouthwick website's recreational and business resource listings.
