School Committee · Meeting of June 11, 2026

Springfield schools unveiled an online facility permit system, replacing paper forms for booking gyms and fields. Facilities staff Chief Patrick Roach, Ricardo Garib, Lindsay Brush and Mike Rodriguez demonstrated the new FMX platform to the School Committee, showing account creation, calendar booking and document uploads for insurance and nonprofit paperwork. Brush said the district runs three gym-rental sessions a year specifically so no group keeps a slot indefinitely, saying her "job and goal is to always promote a fair and equitable process so that everyone has a fair chance to use the facilities." Payments still require a check for now, with online payment still "in the development stages." The committee took no vote on the policy itself; it later voted 3-0 by roll call, Ms.

Grisham, Ms. Crawford and Mr. Gomez all voting yes, to adjourn.
