Springfield School Committee approved revised CTE admissions rules ahead of a tentative April lottery. The committee voted 6-0, with Barbara Gresham absent, after DESE requested minor changes on the timeline, appeals and a one-week lottery announcement. An administrator said the Putnam and Aspire lottery is tentatively set for April 8 or 9, with other assignments expected April 15.

Vice Chair Ramona Naylor said the change "was the will of the state." The committee also approved the superintendent's 2025-2026 goals and raised the legal services contract cap from $150,000 to $200,000 through June 30, 2026. Graduation reached 82.0 percent for the class of 2025, up from 78.6 percent.
