Hampden Select Board appoints eight citizens to study the future of the idle Old Town Hall. The two-member quorum, meeting January 28, unanimously appointed Tad Brown, Joe Sebelia, Thad Clavett, Paul Marcelino, Stephen Webster, Heather Bean, Amy Bilodeau, and Ryan Del Negro to the newly formed Old Town Hall Committee, charged with returning to the board with three to five options for the one-acre, residentially zoned property at 625 Main Street. The board also unanimously authorized the Highway Department to exceed its snow and ice budget for fiscal year 2026, with the chair warning the overrun could reach six figures if another significant storm hits, and approved an application for casino mitigation grant funds now reduced to $19,000 annually — down from an original $100,000.

Town Administrator Brian reported that a security camera project for the new town hall must be completed before a state funding authorization expires in June, and that a stormwater compliance demonstration project could require roughly $30,000 in design costs, possibly offset by a state MVP grant.
