SOUTHWICK — The Southwick Public Library Board of Trustees discussed revising the library director's job description and voted unanimously to decline a donated grandfather clock. Trustees Michael McNair, Andrea Bunker, Tracy Miswar, Cindy Warner and a trustee identified as Tammy voted 4-0 to reject the clock, with the director recommending the donor be referred instead to the historical society. The library director said the library saw a "54 percent increase in library card signups" tied to third-grade class tours, and reported a $1,000 donation to the Books on the Go delivery program.

Discussion centered on scaling back the director's required attendance at evening programs to one night a week, with a trustee noting staff "can't ask you to do 45 hours of work every week" without added pay. The board also flagged a likely need to request supplemental electricity funding this fiscal year after the town level-funded that budget line.
