Safety Committee · Meeting of October 8, 2026

LUDLOW — The Ludlow Safety Committee voted to send the Department of Public Works three separate requests on road safety fixes. Members unanimously approved sending letters asking DPW to add a roadside mirror near 528 Miller Street, correct a Ventura Street speed limit sign one member said is "incorrect, based on our speed study," and address a missing sidewalk and crosswalk blocking a long-tabled crossing guard request near Fuller Street. The panel also filed correspondence items 26-118 through 26-123 and heard from a resident near Belchertown who thanked the committee for a newly permanent, solar-powered speed sign near his home, while asking about additional signage for northbound traffic; a member said further signs would likely wait for "maybe towards next year" pending a new grant cycle.

A separate complaint about a parked vehicle on Katie Street was referred to the building department with no committee action taken.
