Hampden Board Endorses Land Trust Boundary Plan

Hampden Planning Board endorses revised land trust boundary plan near Mount Vision. The board unanimously endorsed an amended Approval Not Required plan for lot AR-1, tied to the town's planned purchase of parking and trail access to the Mount Vision conservation area, after an engineering review found the original driveway route unbuildable and a wetlands survey turned up vegetated wetlands where it had been planned. A board member recused himself, citing his firm's unrelated estate work for the applicant, Sherry, who said the process took nearly two years.
Separately, a resident named Roxanne pitched a 20-child day care center on Allen Street at a former swim school property, saying she'd give priority to Hampden students and needs a special permit. The board also learned the state Attorney General's office needs until February 8 to rule on the town's Article 31 accessory dwelling unit and battery storage zoning articles, "we won't get the decision from them until February 8."
