Conservation Commission amends Vineland Avenue wetlands enforcement order, eyes August deadline

EAST LONGMEADOW — February 25, 2026 — East Longmeadow Conservation Commission amends a wetlands enforcement order and continues a residential NOI at its February 25 meeting. The three-member commission — Anthony Zampuchini, Megan Logan, and Jason Guppert — voted unanimously to amend enforcement order EO 2025-06 at 30 Vineland Avenue, stripping crane-only debris removal language from the order and setting August 30, 2026 as the hard deadline for site stabilization; the property owner must hire a consultant by March 20 and submit a full restoration plan by April 15. Members debated whether a crane could feasibly reach the brook channel from the street — estimated at roughly 60 feet down a steep slope — before agreeing to leave removal method to the restoration plan process. The commission also continued NOI 2025-03, a proposal by applicant Jeffrey Mitchell to build a single-family home at 0 Prospect Street, to April 22, 2026, after receiving a written continuance request from the applicant.
