Brimfield Select Board Backs Low-Cost Animal Control Tier, Tables $25,000 Legal Transfer
Select Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026
Brimfield Select Board recommends lowest-cost animal control tier and tables a $25,000 legal reserve transfer. The board voted unanimously Monday to back Tier 3 of the Milltown Regional Animal Control budget, which will cost Brimfield approximately $30,000 — about $6,000 more than the prior year — with the Milltown agreement partners scheduled to vote Friday. A requested $25,000 reserve fund transfer for legal expenses was tabled after member Tom Stewart demanded an itemized breakdown, saying "there's just no page that should be voted on" without one; Administrative Assistant Chris DeFalco confirmed an attorneys' annual report covering 2025 matters exists and can be provided.
The board also unanimously approved a $2,230 payment to BDI USA Incorporated to repair the town hall accessibility lift, a prerequisite to reoccupying the building, and authorized a $937.70 Canon printer purchase charged to the town hall account.
